Hachette Learning (formerly Hodder Education) is a global educational publishing company producing learning resources for schools and colleges worldwide, supporting both teachers and pupils across classroom and home environments.

With a history spanning over 150 years, the organisation has evolved from traditional print publishing into delivering modern digital learning platforms and interactive educational content, aligning with the increasing role of technology in education.

I joined Hachette Learning as their first-ever UI/UX Designer, where I was responsible for shaping and elevating their digital user experience. I worked across multiple online platforms and learning products used globally, helping improve usability, accessibility, and consistency across their digital ecosystem.

Alongside this, I contributed to the design and delivery of Hachette Learning’s new corporate website, launched in 2024 to support a full brand refresh. This involved translating the new brand identity into a cohesive digital experience while ensuring the site met both user needs and business objectives.

My role helped establish a UI/UX design function within the organisation, laying foundations for scalable design systems and user-centred design practices within a traditionally print-led business.
